Pour la suite Marie-Antoinette, Aline orchestrera un dialogue à quatre mains entre Pascal Danguin et Lauren, dans le but de réinterpréter de manière contemporaine le célèbre portrait de la Reine, peint en 1783 par Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. Le contraste entre le trait charbonneux du fusain et la texture du papier sculpté met en valeur les détails emblématiques du portrait, comme la coiffure de Marie-Antoinette, insufflant à l’ensemble une modernité saisissante.

In 2017, Lauren Collin had the privilege of meeting the talented architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, who commissioned her to create a series of 17 works for the suites of the newly renovated Hôtel de Crillon.

From this creative exchange came singular pieces where paper is transformed through the movements of watercolor and gilded wax. The delicacy of these powdery hues evokes the historical decor found in certain salons of the Hôtel de Crillon, establishing a subtle dialogue between modernity and heritage.

For the Marie-Antoinette suite, Aline orchestrated a four-handed collaboration between Pascal Danguin and Lauren, to create a contemporary version of the famous portrait of the Queen, painted in 1783 by Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. The contrast between the charcoal strokes and the sculpted paper texture accentuates the iconic details of the portrait, such as Marie-Antoinette’s coiffure, infusing the work with a striking modernity.
